Breeanna Louise

As I look back on this day, it's been a long 5 months, but it's my story and I am so thankful for Breeanna. It was Monday August 30, 2010. I was 21 weeks 3 days pregnant. Up to this point, I had a great, almost perfect pregnancy! 2 weeks prior on our 9th Wedding Anniversary, we had an ultrasound, the baby looked perfect. That evening we celebrated with our family where we all found out together that we were having a little girl.

Once we knew it was a girl, I went to work on finding bedding and paint colors. The weekend before Breeanna arrived, on Friday, I had felt Breeanna completely turn around in my stomach, it was the most amazing feeling and thing to watch from the outside. On Saturday, I suspected I may have lost my mucus plug but never been through a full-term pregnancy, I wasn't sure. I asked a few close friends about it and they said "it was too early for that" so I passed it off as another strange thing you body goes through during pregnancy. I went on my day, my friend Lisa and I went to a local kids sale where I found lots of goodies for our little girl while Chris painted her room. On Sunday, we finished the painting and went to spend the afternoon with my family at a summer gathering. I felt great and had a good size baby bump!

Monday morning arrived, I was at work and had gone to the bathroom and noticed a trace of blood and some clear fluid. I called the clinic immediately and they said I should come in to be safe. I waited for quite a while to get into see my Dr. nervous and praying the entire time. My Dr. examined me and tested the fluid and it wasn't amniotic. He decided to do an ultrasound and everything looked great, there was plenty of fluid and our daughter was moving around like crazy. My Dr. wanted me to go see a Perinatologist but I couldn't get in until the first thing the next morning. Parting from the clinic, my Dr. let me know that since he had examined me, I might feel some cramping a additional spotting and to go home and relax the rest of the day. That afternoon, I had STRONG cramps and a lot of fluid coming out and eventually noticed the cramps were consistently timed. Once I realized that, I drove myself to the hospital.

When I got to the hospital, I was hooked up a monitor that confirmed my contractions were 3 minutes apart. The on-call Dr. arrived and checked me. She told me, I was almost fully dilated and that I was going to have our daughter that night and there wasn't anything they could do to stop it. She also told me that our baby was not going to be developed enough and she would be too small to save her.

After laying in the hospital bed for a couple of hours, the Dr. broke my water to speed things up. Shortly after that, I was able to start pushing, after a few pushes, she was here. Breeanna Louise was born, she weighed 14.6 ounces, and was 10.5 inches long. Absolute perfection! She was amazingly beautiful and perfect in every way. She was moving around and we could see her little heart pumping through her chest for a little over an hour before she went home to be with her Heavenly Father.

My life will be forever changed because of a miracle God granted us. A child, a little girl, our daughter Breeanna. Through this experience, my faith and marriage have grown to a new level; much more stronger than I could have ever imagined.
