This spring I had something special to look forward to. My wonderful co-workers gave Chris and I a certificate for a tree to plant in memory of Breeanna. I spent a lot of time looking for which tree I wanted until I came across this one. My favorite color is yellow, I love the smell of lemons and I always wanted a tree that bloomed flowers so this tree was perfect!
This picture is of the tree last fall after we planted it.
My daily trips to the view the tree up close started to pay off. Slowly the pussy willow like pods started to break open and the flowers slowly unraveled.
The center of the flowers remind me of a pineapple and the flowers have a pleasant lemony-floral scent to them.
I am excited to watch this beautiful tree grow each year. I have the perfect view of it from my spot at the dining room table, the road as I pull up to our home, on the deck and while I am playing in the garden or back yard.
