One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to camp and to visit new places. This year we ventured to Ashby to spend a long weekend on Pelican Lake.
We spent our morning and afternoons fishing and visiting Bird Island. Bird Island could keep me occupied for days! It sounds like one hundred kids playing outside at recess and the birds are coming and going constantly. There are birds perched in trees and nests everywhere. It was a cool place to visit.
Our evenings were spent grilling, watching the sunset over Ashby and eating s'mores and pudgy
pies for dessert.
We couldn't have asked for a better time
away. We look forward to a future visit to this wonderful place!
