23 Weeks

What’s Will up to? Your baby is about 11.38 inches long about the size of a mango. Baby may be settling into a regular routine. All of her internal systems are in place, even if they do need a little more time to mature. Speaking of routines, you'll notice that your little 1-pounder has settled into a pattern, whether she's more active when you're resting and quieter when you are out and about. His vestibular system--the area in the brain responsible for sensing movement--is one of the first parts of the brain to mature and it is already actively sensing all your movements. At the same time, Baby's hearing continues to develop and sharpen. Studies show that infants who are exposed to certain loud noises in the womb (like dog barks or the dryer beeping) are less likely to be startled by them once they are born. Good thing for that because with me being at home, I am constantly yelling at the dog to quit barking because she barks over the littlest noises.

Appointment: My appointment was on 3.9.12 was with my Peri. It was an ok appointment. I lost more cervical length; I am down to .5 cm left but the stitch is holding strong, I am not dilated and I am having minimal contractions so those are all positive items. I will have to continue weekly checks through 28 weeks now which is probably good because I might have found reasons to be seen when not necessary. My Dr. also recommended that I have a Steroid shot to help Will’s lung develop in case he arrives early. I will go in tomorrow for the second shot 24 hours later. I am so thankful for medicine technology!

Bed Rest: 7 weeks complete, only 8-10 more to go! I am not as sore as I had been. My friend Mary Kay purchased me some Sweet Almond Oil that I have been using to work out the kinks and pains, seems to be working well.

Highlights: I had lunch visitors twice this week from my fellow co-workers and it was great to see them as well as very productive. I really miss seeing my team and I am so thankful I have them in life as supporters right now.

My body: I am up 14 pounds total and my tummy has grown 12” total. I love looking down and seeing this beautiful bump!

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
