25 Weeks

What’s Will up to? He’s steadily putting on weight. The fat under his skin helps make him look less like a mousling wearing a seal skin and more like a real live baby, which means his skin isn't as baggy as it has been. In the next few weeks his nostrils will open and he'll practice breathing even more. Small air sacs ("alveoli," rhymes with ravioli) are developing in his lungs. The hair that has sprouted on his head is probably long enough that, if you could see it, you could tell its color, and in the next couple of weeks his fused eyes will open. He can hear even better now, so you can try hooking up the headphones to play him your favorite music.

Appointment: Was on 3.22.12 with my Peri. There was no change since last week which is a huge relief! I will not continue my weekly cervical checks but will have ultrasounds to monitor Will’s growth. I don’t know when my next appt. is, they will just come to my room to get me but hopefully next week.

Bed Rest/Hospital Stay: My room feels pretty homey with all the gifts and flowers but I am full so no more! We also have a small collection start of things for Will. I love seeing the little clothes, booties, books, etc. I met with a PT this week which has already made a little difference in how I feel.
  Highlights:
  • Feeling Will have the hiccups.
  •  All of my visitors. It’s amazing how many people have come out this week. Thank you for your visits, love, prayers and support from Chris, Will and I. Without all of you, this would be a much harder transition.
  • Spending so much time with family and friends.
  •  I get to start working again next week! I have been going a bit nuts this week, looking forward to having something more to do next week.
  • Meeting so many wonderful nurses.
  • Being involved in a photo for the hospital use from a photographer that I have personally wanted to use for my maternity photos for years. She is going to come back and do maternity photos for us!
For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
